Scotland’s national animal, the unicorn is a symbol of purity, innocence and power in Celtic mythology. Legend has it that their horns could purify poisoned water, such was the strength of their healing powers.
Ancient Achaemenid Assyrian seals depict winged unicorns and winged bulls as representing evil, but winged unicorns can also represent light.
